Hi my friends!

The FNMT has issued a second commemorative coin of 30€, this coins is coloured, the same than the first one minted this year, and for the first time, depicts the portrait of the Princess Leonor, heir to the Throne. This coin can be purchased for it face value, so, you can pick it up your coin “just” for 30€ in your bank office. The coin will be issued on October 22nd.

Just read a Süddeutsche Zeitung article about Leonor. Poor girl - first she is awarded the Order of the Golden Fleece by her dad, King Felipe, for her "merits" (mind you, she is 12 years old). Then there was some kind of family dispute involving the former queen Sofía (Leonor's grandmother) and her mother, the current queen Letizia. And now ... the coin disaster.

Interestingly, the negative voices about Leonor's effigy on the coin come from the left and right, from the monarchist and the republican "camp". ;) Some complain about the terrible, unrecognizable portrait, others mock at it. But hardly anybody likes the coin.
