Jahangir Ahmadabad Inayat Couplet AH 1031

Jahangir Ahmadabad Inayat Couplet  AH 1031
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

These two Rupees, are with year AH 1031, but with different regnal years.
Liddle Type 102 Couplet " Sikka zad dar Ahmedabad as inayat-e-Elah"
Observe" Nooruddin Jahangir ibn Akbar Badshah"

Jahangir reigned from AH 1014-1037, so the first coin is with AH 1031 RY 16 ( It has to be RY 17), the second one is with AH 1031 and RY 17 ( That's correct number),
But still, its the engraver's error to issue coin with such error.

Expert opinions are welcome to put their views on these two coins.

Since the AH and AD years start on a different day, it is quite possible to find two different AH years for a single AD years and vice versa. For more information and a calculator, see here.

Peter the reference here was to the AH / RY combination and 1031 / 16 and 1031 / 17 are both possible. See here for the 1032 / 17.
