I've seen 2019 20c pieces with the old portrait and I've heard reports of 5c pieces too.

Apparently, all 6 circulation denominations have been minted with the new and the old effigy in 2019:

Great, they are ahead of their August Schedule.

A private communication by Vice President of Sydney coin club, indicated to me.

Anyway, coins swaps for both the new and old effigies are happening this month.

Mister T

The swap was on Tuesday - all six denominations (non-commemorative) were available with both the new and old portraits.

I think I've only seen the new 5c and 20c dated 2019 - still waiting to find the others in change.

I think we only have two active members from Australia - one of them being yourself!
All I know is that two years since the portrait change I've still not found anywhere selling them in the UK....
always willing to trade modern UK coins for modern coins from elsewhere....

Most mints use a first-in-first-out system for stocks. This means that they'll issue 2020 coins only when there's no more 2019 of that denomination and 2021 only when they run out of 2020. If they over-estimated demand when planning for 2019, it'll be a while before you see coins dated after 2019, the more so because the trend for demand for coins has been down for a number of years.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Anyone seeing much 2021 stuff yet?

All 2021 coins have been out in circulation for months. Certainly the 5c, 20c and $2 appear to be widespread based on the reports. There are less reports of finds of the 2021-dated 10c, 50c and $1. Reports originate from places in Queensland, NSW and Victoria.

Mister T

I've found a 20c at least - some others too but I have them put away at the moment.

Mister T

I'm still missing some but have seen:
5c: 2019 IRB 2019 JC 2020
10c: 2020
20c: 2019 IRB 2019 JC 2020 2021
50c 2019 IRB 2019 JC 2020
$1 2019 JC
$2: 2019 JC 2020
So still a few to be found.
