Perhaps from this operation - lucky cranes - seen in the South of the Netherlands (Etten-Leur)?

I visited a local fair in Vire, Calvados.  One of the carnies told me they don't all travel to the same locations. So these trailers could appear anywhere in France.

There are more of those than you can imagine. Years back, I spoke to Johan Mevius Jr., a well-known Dutch numismatic books and medals dealer. He told me he'd started a private collection of Dutch plastic tokens. When he had 100 000 different ones and there was no end in sight, he gave up and gave his collection away.

Admittedly, that included beer tokens. By my estimate, about ⅓ of Dutch plastic tokens are fair tokens, ⅔ are beer tokens.

The problem is that there are producers of these tokens in the Netherlands who will make them on demand. They keep no records of designs. Issuers have an incentive to change shape or colour fairly often in order to cash in on unused tokens and to beat Chinese forgeries. For the same reason, the old tokens cost practically nothing and are very difficult to sell. If you are interested, check out Dutch internet auction site Marktplaats. You may run into a bulk lot.

I shall stay with the British tokens there are more than enough of these to satisfy me, but the interest is always wetted by a pretty picture or two like those.

I shall collect some more piccies for you Mal ;D
Peter must be right.  I did not realise that each of these trailers have their own tokens.  Piccies will have to do! :'(
