I was looking for something and realised that except for one solitary Rupee (1119 / ahd) of this Ruler from the Ahmedabad mint, all other coins are missing on WoC. So here we go.

List of possible date combinations of Shah Alam Bahadur are mentioned below (thanks to the efforts of our mentor Jan Lingen (Oesho).

Accession date 24 Muharram, AH1119 = 16 April 1707. On the first of Shawwal 1119 (= 15 December 1707) Shah Alam Bahadur issued an order that his reign should commence from the 18th Zu l-hajja, 1118 = 12 March 1707, the day that he heard of his father's death. Julian Dates. For the present (Gregorian) calendar add 11 days.

1119          24-03-1707            1            16-04-1707
(Official order issued 15-12-1707 Reign should commence from 12-03-1707)
1120         12-03-1708            2            29-02-1708
1121         02-03-1709            3            07-02-1709
1122         19-02-1710            4            07-02-1710
1123         08-02-1711            5            27-01-1711
1124         29-01-1712            6            16-01-1712
                Died 20 Muharram 1124 (= 17-02-1712)

The other date combination for the above AH or RY are almost impossible to come by as those combinations lasted around 13 days. However, what is surprising is that I could not find any image of coins dated RY 4 and later (AH 1122 to 1124). I need to check up the book by Tariq and Arthur if they have listed the other combinations .......... I did not find any on ZENO.

I invite any one who has coins of this ruler and mint to post them to complete the thread.

I second asm's call for contributions of coins in any grade with other date combinations.

Very nice coins and fantastic post.

I'm also looking for SA1  Ahmedabad rupees as well as Surat with dual dates.

Surat coins are again mostly Ah off the flan but for Ahmedabad one can find with both AH/RY.

All the best for missing coins.

Cheers ;D

Congratulations! That must indeed be a coin that's very hard to find.

Make sure you play the video of Amit's superb presentation of all coins struck at the Ahmedabad mint at the Grand event last October. The link is here.
