The Government of Saint Helena is from this year going to issue their own bullion coin. The silver coin with a denomination of 1 pound will be a sort of reintroduction of the trade dollar. The coin depicts the portrait that Royal Mint engraver Jody Clark made for use on coins of dependencies and territories. Saint Helena is the first island after the Isle of Man to introduce this special version of the portrait on its coins.

@eurocoin

Thanks for the info ... mintage of the coin = 10,000

I have contacted Bank of St Helena. They have an agreement with the XXX Company for the production and sale of the coins.

XXX have again referred me to "distributor" is selling the 2018 British Trade Dollar 1oz Silver BU coin – issued by St Helena for XXX.

That's the long way ... i dont want to get reprimanded for posting an "advertisement"

If you seriously want to purchase this coin "PM" me and i will send you the link to the "distributor"

It is apparently a series too as the same company has also issued 1 for Niue.

I feel myself slipping down the road to perdition. I really have no time for NCLT fripperies but I could really fancy one of these.

IIRC, "East India Company" is based in London...

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.
