Kalanaur represents a special memory for Akbar : he was at Kalanaur when, at the age of 14, he learnt the death of his father Humayun, and it's here that he has been crowned as emperor by Bairam Khan; it could be the reason why coins have been struck for a while in this symbolic year 1000 AH.
