Yes Vic, it sn't a common mint...
(it isn't a recent find, I have this coin for many years)

This mint is missing from old catalogs (Wright, Brown, Whitehead) so that from the "Mint towns of the mughal Emperors of India" by Singhal / 1953.
Dams could have been struck at Kalanur (or Kalanaur) for only few months in year "Ilahi 37" /1000 AH; at least  Shahrewar, Mihr, Di  and Isfandarmuz exist (6th, 7th, 10th & 12th )

Thank you... I think that coins have been struck here for an historical reason.
Kalanaur represents a special memory for Akbar : he was at Kalanaur when, at the age of 14, he learnt the death of his father Humayun, and it's here that he has been crowned as emperor by Bairam Khan;  it could be the reason why coins have been struck for a while in this symbolic year 1000 AH.

Thus months 5 - 6 - 7 - 10 & 12 are known; Aban, Azar and Bahman should appear to complete the series of 8 last ones... may be the earlier months also exist
