Jahangir, Silver Rupee, Tatta, AH 1020 RY 6, Aban, KM 145.17[/b]

From the die, especially Rev, it is apparent the coin has an ornamental 12-arched border with 4-dotted rosette between each arch. The full die would have been impressive.

It's nice enough as it is. With some clever copying and pasting you could complete the die, but isn't it more charming to let your brain and fantasy do the job? The other side is probably also pretty complete, but as there is text missing, I see the added value of an overlay there.

Have you tried your hand on overlays, Mitresh? I have, but wasn't happy with the result. It just increased my admiration for those who can do it. It may be easier with a pressure sensitive tablet than with a mouse.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

A coin in nice condition !
Nevertheless, the script is not of the same top quality as usually found on Jahangir rupees; maybe it was an old engraver with a little trembling hand  ::) ...it is  the same problem for overlays using the mouse  :D ...
