Shah Jahan III, Shahjahanabad mint rare coins-Both dates known

Shahjahan III or  Muhi-ul-milat was the grandson of Kam baksh. Imad ul mulk placed him on the throne of Delhi after executing Alamgir II on 29th Nov 1759 as a puppet ruler. But Marathas after capturing Delhi , to bring Shuja ud daula to their side against the Afghans, executed him on 10th October 1760. Thus he ruled for less than 11 months. This reign of less than 11 month covers part of 1173AH and part of 1174AH.. 1174Ah/ry Ahd are rarer as they were minted between 13th August 1760 and 10th October 1760, just 3 months before 3rd battle of panipat and during maratha occupation of Delhi

I am often amazed at the speed at which coins could be designed and produced. Kopper Ken just declared that a new commemorative US coin would need more than ten months of planning! That would cut the three months period even shorter.

Another amazing thing is the regicide. They are rare in European countries and normally a source of frustration and fascination.
