No significance as such, SPMCIL however has come into limelight in recent months due to some decisions taken by government (demonetization, new series of banknotes, coin minting policy etc.), hence this update.

Economic Times has reported that there was a delay in procurement of blanks for ₹10 coins by SPMCIL, and mints are now trying to meet the demand by producing more lower denomination coins.
