Samanid fals, elegant, and varieties
« on: December 07, 2017, 09:59:25 AM »
Here's a nice Samanid fals, minted in Bukhara, issued by amir Mansur b. Nuh in 358 AH (=969 AD). 28 mm, 2.40 gr. That's from the same year and place as this unusually gold-shimmering fals. And the lower one is in a different style, but I believe from Bukhara, 358 AH also (27.5 mm, 2.65 gr.).

Nice specimen !
I agree with you on Bukhara as mintplace for the bottom one (located in the margin at 6 o'clock in the left picture).
