The presentations of the 2018 numismatic programs at the World Money Fair can now be viewed here:

Of particular interest in the context of this topic will be the video from the Bank of Greece. :)

Here's the 10 silver collector coin from the 'Europa Star' series, commemorating Baroque and Rococo.

Designed by George Stamatopoulos.

Very nice video indeed! I particularly like the first 2 commemorative (70 Years of Union of Dodecanese Islands with Greece).

Also good to know that some Greek coins are designed by someone other than George Stamatopoulos. ;D

Right, this one for example was designed by Maria Antonatou who is, like Stamatopoulos, a designer at the Bank of Greece. I am absolutely not fond of mathematics ;) but the design I like. 100th anniversary of the Hellenic Mathematical Society - 6 (silver, proof only), diameter 28.5 mm, weight 10 g, mintage 1,500 max. The image is from that presentation but in grayscale. In the video you see a little color on and around the CoA.

I also find the 6 series commemorating 'Prominent Greek Economists' bit ironical in present context... ;)

Don't worry, chrisild. The designer is not a mathematician either. I found Pythagoras and Einstein and some innocent silliness in the design. They have little in common except symbols. :)

Ah, good. :) Well, keep in mind that I am from a state that puts up big signs along the autobahns in the Leverkusen area - you know, those brown tourism signs - that say "Europas Chemieregion" (quite a bit of chemical industry in NW) and prominently displays a bond of two hexagons. That is supposed to be naphthalene ... except there is apparently one line too much. My motto: Who cares, looks nice. The same way I look at that coin design, hehe.

While I like the design - especially those fragments of his works - I am once again not fond of the price tag. :)
