Diamond Head (323 m) is the name of a volcanic tuff cone on the Hawaiian island of Oʻahu and known to Hawaiians as Lēʻahi, most likely from lae 'browridge, promontory' plus ʻahi 'tuna' because the shape of the ridgeline resembles the shape of a tuna's dorsal fin.

Mount Waialeale, Hawaiian Wai'ale'ale, peak, central Kauai island, Hawaii, U.S. Waialeale (Hawaiian: "Rippling Water"), with an elevation of 5,148 feet (1,569 metres), is a dissected (eroded) dome. Waialeale is located at the southeastern edge of an extinct caldera that is now a plateau called Alakai Swamp. Shrouded in clouds, Waialeale is one of the world's wettest spots, averaging some 450 inches (11,430 mm) of rainfall annually. In 1982, 666 inches (16,916 mm) of rain were recorded on the peak, establishing an official record. Only a few miles away, however, the amount of rain drops dramatically to only 10 inches (250 mm) a year.

The Iao Needle (Kūkaemoku) is a famous landmark in the state park, a vegetation-covered lava remnant rising 370 m from the valley floor or 690 m when measured from sea level. The "needle" itself is an illusion, and is in reality a sharp ridge that gives the appearance of being a spire when viewed end-on. The needle is an extension of and surrounded by the cliffs of the West Maui Mountains, an extinct volcano.

Mount Ararat is a snow-capped and dormant compound volcano in the eastern extremity of Turkey.[9] It consists of two major volcanic cones: Greater Ararat, the highest peak in Turkey and the Armenian plateau with an elevation of 5,137 m.
Mount Ararat is associated with the "mountains of Ararat" in the Bible. It is the traditional resting place of Noah's Ark according to the Book of Genesis. It is the principal national symbol of Armenia and is considered a "holy mountain" by Armenians. It is featured prominently in Armenian literature and art. Along with Noah's Ark, it is depicted on the coat of arms of Armenia.

The first efforts to reach Ararat's summit were made in the Middle Ages. However, it was not until 1829 when Friedrich Parrot and Khachatur Abovian, accompanied with four others, made the first recorded ascent.

Khan Tengri or Hantengri Peak is a mountain of the Tian Shan mountain range. It is located on the China—Kyrgyzstan—Kazakhstan border, east of lake Issyk Kul. Its geologic elevation is 6,995 m, but its glacial cap rises to 7,010 m. For this reason, in mountaineering circles, including for the Soviet Snow Leopard award criteria, it is considered a 7,000-metre peak.
First ascent: 1931 Mikhail Pogrebetsky, Boris Tyurin and Franz Zauberer.
