Coin shopping in Berlin
« on: September 02, 2017, 12:10:56 AM »
I'm visiting Berlin next week. Is there by any chance a place where one might buy Oriental coins?

Unless there is an event, you are out of luck. Maybe this link can inspire?

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

In Berlin I have been to Mehlhausen http://www.berlinermuenzauktion.de once, but I don't think they have oriental coins. Pollandt http://www.muenzen-am-zoo.de may have a few, but both sell primarily via MA-Shops ...

Thanks for your help - next time I will follow your advice. As it were, I entered one coin shop in the Chausseestrasse, where they had no Steckmedailles and only very few ancient coins.
I found one interesting object, that however was a bit too heavy to take with me (and probably the authorities would have frowned upon me bringing a sewer lid in my airplane luggage).

Thanks Peter, but Chrisild already entered this manhole cover earlier in that thread. Mine was photographed in the middle of the Gendarmenmarkt, somewhere in the field of this picture.
