Commemorative coins to be issued for 90th anniversary of PLA founding

(People's Daily Online)    17:15, July 28, 2017

A set of commemorative coins will be issued by the People's Bank of China on July 31 to commemorate the 90th anniversary of the founding of People's Liberation Army (PLA).

Ten coins, including two gold coins and one gold and silver coin, will be included in the set. A total of 250 million sets will be made and issued.

The two gold coins are valued at 800 yuan and 100 yuan, and the gold and silver coin is valued at 10 yuan. The other seven coins are silver and valued between 300 and 5 yuan, according to bank’s website.

All carry China's national emblem on the front and each has a different PLA theme on the back. The most expensive coin—the 800 yuan gold coin—shows PLA soldiers and armed police officers in a flood rescue scene. The six silver coins show images of a soldier and typical service weapons.

August 1, 2017, marks the 90th anniversary of the PLA’s founding.

Caution. The low-hanging fruits are still there maybe for a reason.
