Dear Marc, this coin is Safavids, Shah Abbas I, AH 998?, Silver abbasi, mint?  (996-1038 AH). Could be Bahbahan mint?

Yes Maythem : the mint is well  Bahbahan (or Behbahan); the date is not clear but I don't think that it could be 998 : Abbas I struck abbasi at a standard of 9,22g from 996 to 1004 AH and decreased it to 7,68g from 1005 AH; this coin fits with this 2nd std and should be dated 1005 or later.
a scarce mint and a nice coin !

Thank you Saro, I was not sure about the date, that is why I put a question mark. From the information you gave it looks like "AH 1008 ۱۰۰۸ " is the date at 9 O'clock above end letter " N ن " of the word " Behbahan بهبهان ". There is a definite digit " 8 ۸ " at the end of the date.

yes, 1008 is most probably the good date.
(I haven't been able to find a picture of another abbasi of this mint on books or web... it appears to be a rarity :applause: )

Thank you Saro, first time I see a Persian coin with Behbahan mint, nice coin with rare mint.
Congratulations Mrac.

Thank you for fully identifying this coin.
So it seems that I saved the best Persian coin as the last one from my lot.
Still lots of Islamic coins to come; but that will be for another section.

Vic, a very nice Civic copper you have there.
