According to Gerhard Schön's catalogue, the circulation coins were minted at the Imprensa Nacional - Casa da Moeda, S.A., Lusbon, Portugal. Does anybody know what S.A. stands for?

And the collector coins were minted at the Numismatic Trading Associates, Geneva, Switzerland.

S. A. stands for Sociedade Anónima, the Portuguese equivalent of the english corporation.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Thanks. I guessed it would be something like that, but "Anonymous Society" sounds rather strange in English.  :D
