My understanding is that the singing festival is a very important cultural happening. Is there a web site with more info?

That page contained the information I was looking for. A very positive way to celebrate statehood. Beats any military parade.

Song and dance celebrations are an old and very important tradition for Estonia and Estonians (the first song celebration took place in 1869 and the first dance celebration in 1934) and these celebrations are nowadays held every five years. In 2003 our tradition of song and dance celebrations was entered to UNESCO’s List of Intangible Cultural Heritage.

The coin will only officially be released June 1, but a collector in Slovakia had the luck of already finding one in his change. The fifth time ever that a 2 euro commemorative coin was found in circulation prior to its official release.

I like the design. The concepts of singing and festivity are well expressed with the dancing music bar and the mounting bubbles. I'll try to get one.
