Ilkhanid Abu Said 6 Dirham, mint Isfarayin?
« on: June 30, 2017, 11:34:44 PM »
Hi,
I found a very similar looking coin here: https://www.vcoins.com/en/stores/cyrus_coins/28/product/item_31129_ilkhanid_persian_mongols_abu_said_ah_716736_ar_silver_6dirham_isfarayin_mint_ah_730_ad_1330__album_2213_type_g_diler_ab_525_scarce_mint_in_khorasan/663032/Default.aspx
That one id Isfarayin mint.
So I wonder if my two coins are also form that mint?
The second coin has a funny strike error on the reverse where it looks like the top part has been struck a little offset to the bottom part.
Last question: which of both would you put into your collection?
Coin 1
Size: 27mm
Weight: 9.49gr

Coin 2
Size: 28mm
Weight: 9.15gr

No, I don't think tht top one is Isfarayn, but I will have a closer look tomorrow.

The bottom one is Jajerm again, but has been slightly double-struck. I would probably keep the top one.
