Yes I realise that but the use is what I expected it to be.

You suggested Switzerland which is possibly correct but what about Belgium? are they likely to omit the C  there?

Have a look at  my tokens and my banknotes.

Just as likely (and don't count out Canada), but I found no hits in Belgium on the Google search result pages I went through.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

I found some other tokens using the same design of slot possibly these too are for a gramophone salon.

Also a close-up of the third image which sees to be the clearest photo.

Guttey-Adenau produced lifts for office buildings. The address Blechturmgasse 20 looks like a former office building. The company was established in 1919 by two engineers, former employees of Freissler. They sold three to seven installations annually. Most of these were installed in buildings in Vienna. The company was especially strong in the public buildings market. The company was taken over Freissler in 1961. It seems to me that, since few lift installations were built, while the tokens are not extreme rarities the best solution is that the tokens were meant to control use of the elevators, perhaps in buildings used to house public services, not unlike room key cards are sometimes necessary to use the elevators of big hotels.
