This is the first issue of shillings in Elizabeth II's reign, with substantially the same text as for the 1950 shilling except for the name and REGINA (queen) instead of REX (king). As I mentioned for the 2nd shilling you showed, the BRITT OMN text was abandoned after 1953, so later coins of Elizabeth's reign have more spaced-out text on the obverse.

The minting of English and Scottish shillings side by side continued until 1966.
