The Royal Palace of Monaco in cooperation with MTM Monaco has just announced that the 2017 BU set of Monaco will be issued on May 29. The set will be issued online so everyone has a fair chance to obtain one. The official website on which these will be issued is https://www.mtm-monaco.mc/

Hopefully MTM has learned from the many problems (broken website; overselling) that were encountered when the 2 euro commemorative was sold a few years ago. At the time they for the first time sold an interesting product in their online shop. This decision was made after major protests of collectors who did not agree with the fact that so far new euro coins were either only issued through dealers or only in their shop in Monaco.

What's the issue price going to be? Will they ship it to a non EU address (if lucky enough to reserve one)? I guess they don't.

Caution. The low-hanging fruits are still there maybe for a reason.

No wonder dealers are asking 250+ for it. Which denominations will be put into circulation by Monaco this year? Last year, 1 and 2 were issued in rolls and are quite easily available (I have both, not the rolls but single coins ;)).

None. Likely the 2 euro commemorative will be put into circulation with a high mintage.

It will not be possible for people outside the EU to buy the new set from MTM Monaco. There will be a limit of 1 set per person. Orders of people who succeed in surpassing the system and so are able to order more will be cancelled.

According to my source in Monaco, MTM is having technical problems with their website. They have no idea when it will be fixed as they do not maintain their website themselves. It is well possible, if not very likely, that the set won't be issued today. Another disappointment from Monaco..

Update 17:53: Issuance has been postponed until tomorrow 30/05.

Shipping costs will be extremely expensive. They charge no less than 35 euros for it.

Excellent! They should sell the set for 3.88 and charge 150 for shipping. At least nobody will then complain about these coins being NCLT then. >:D

Welcome on World of Coins Forum Magic2ik! The set has indeed not yet been issued. Nobody can guarantee that it is finally going to happen today.
