The British pointed out that this design resembled George and the Dragon somewhat, so they advised Gibraltar against using it. Would anybody really mistake Tarik for Saint George?

Even worse, would anyone confuse "the rock" with a dragon? Then again, why is it a problem if a Gibraltar tarik may be confused with a UK sovereign when both have the same denomination? Or was it all agitprop from the "Deuxième Bureau" who feared Tarik would be mistaken for Napoléon?
