During the launch of the new series of circulating coins of the Isle of Man it was said that there will no longer be issued Isle of Man commemorative 50p coins for the TT. This means that there will come an end to a tradition of 35 years. The TT won't completely disappear from coins though as 'something else' will be issued instead.

What are TT coins?

Dale

The last 35 years the Isle of Man issued every year a commemorative 50p coin depicting the winner of the Isle of Man Tourist Trophy (TT) of the previous year.

ahhh I am familiar with the coins and have some. Didn't associate the TT designation with them.
I collected some but didn't actually study them  :-[

I have a lot more of the Christmas 50p and those I like a lot.

TT 50p coins were issued 1981-1984 then sporadically between 2004 and 2016,
the latter were celebrating things like 50 years of Yamaha at the TT and the centennial of the TT itself.
