I smoked in my misspent youth, Player's Medium Navy Cut, Camel & Gauloises.

I have a memory of a girl giving me a menthol cigarette in a dimly lit club, never having seen one before I lit it and soon realized I had lit the wrong end!  I'd no idea it was a tipped cigarette because it had a white, not brown, tip.

Thanks Tim for my, somewhat embarrassing, trip down memory lane.

My misspent youth is continuing, Old Holborn original!  But, due to recent troubles I have cut down to 10% of my previous consumption.
I do love those random remembrances of the past  ;D
Menthol ciggies. Noooooooooooooooooooo!

Have a look at  my tokens and my banknotes.

Prosit

I never cared for Camel, Pall Mall, or Lucky Strike, but it is a nice token.

I have one of this tokens, but mine have the date 1899.

Promotional or advertising token of Camel cigarettes, originally worth a pack of 20 cigarettes.

And it shows the motto "Best for your money's worth" and on the other side "Highly valued all over the world", Highlighting the added value that the company Camel gave to its products.

Most of this type of tokens that circulated in the United States casinos were made of brass, and were made between 1960 and 1965, showing the year in which they were made, but this one belongs to a rare older edition, and must have been made around 1950.

Obviously, although it says 1899, it was not done that year because the first Camel factory was opened in 1913. It is believed to be possibly a historic date for the foundation of a tobacco plantation, from which they obtain their raw material.

The date 1899 may well refer to the creation of the Pall Mall brand. Both Pall Mall and Camel are owned by BAT (British American Tobacco). The occasion might have been the 50th jubilee in 1949.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

Yes Peter, it makes perfect sense, that should be the reason for the 1899 date.
Thank's!
