South Cape Casino - Where?
« on: March 03, 2017, 05:58:51 PM »
I guess there are many South Capes around the world. Of course I - as a collector of African tokens - hope to locate it in South Africa. But I found no convincing hit for any casino with this name in the net. Can anybody tell me, if and where this casino exists or existed, please?

Here one of their chips:

You probably have other SA casino tokens. Does the denomination 100 fit in?

I know chips of 100, 200, 500 and 1,000 for this casino. I know South African chips of 25 ct up to 10,000, but the most usual ones are actually 10, 25, 50 and 100. The denominations of the South Cape Casino would actually fit well to Kenya, which has not so much South Coast as far as I know ...  ::)

There are chips of phantasy casinos at ebay. May be these belong to them.  :(  But I still have some hope for help!  :)

These chips seem to come from Kenya indeed. They were used in the Palms Casino Regency in Nairobi beside pieces, which were labeled with the new casino name. I show both pieces of the uncommon denomination of 200 KSh. But still I could not find anything about a "South Cape Casino" ...

Many thanks! To me the origin of the chips is now confirmed.
