I can't remember what year I got mine, so looked it up. Some site said 1998, but you are usually right.  :P

I got mine from the Royal Mint, but there was a long wait, as the Mint probably hadn't anticipated the demand, and in between it sent me some first day cover (stamped envelope) with a coin in it as an apology. I can't remember what the coin was, but my father collected stamps, so I passed it on to him.

The standard circulating 2 pounds coin of the Falkland Islands exists for 2003 too. I do not know what its edge lettering is.

I have now seen images of the edge of a 2003-dated Falkland Islands 2 pounds coin and the edge is indeed reeded without any lettering.
