I am being offered a 1 Rupee Star Packet of 100 serially arranged Notes of 2016 Ratan P Watal for Rs. 10,000/-.

Since I am not too much into Star Notes, your suggestions about the pricing are solicited.

Thanks in advance.

If I remember correctly, in last month's Mumbai exhibition, there was a dealer who was asking ₹8000 for the similar bundle. I shall ask my friends and confirm. ₹10k sounds excessive to me...

Slight on higher side. I was offered this at Rs 7000 in December Pune Exhibition.
Didn't buy as I was looking for one or two and not a bundle.

Received reply from my friend (he collects such stuff) as follows: Do not pay more than ₹3000 for this bundle. Any price below that is a deal. Single star notes of ₹1 are available for ₹20-₹25, so ₹3000 is a good price. ₹10,000 is certainly not once should pay for it.

He adds that these notes have been printed in huge numbers and price may fall even down in future.

I knew 2015 was in that range. Didn't realize 2016 had also come down to this extent.

My friend pointed out the serial number of Abhay's banknote: 3,60,000, which means that at least those many star notes of that prefix and inset have been printed. Since star notes are not considered only as replacement notes but regular ones, they will be printed like regular notes and hence should not cost more.

Thanks for all the replies.

I have decided not to buy it.

Thanks
