Palembang tin pitis dated 1200AH, Millies 189
« on: February 08, 2017, 04:02:05 AM »
Fairly clearly legible Al Sultan fi Bilad Palembang sanat 1200 (date backwards).    The initial A is usually not written on this type.   Instead the first 1 of the date does double duty.    Here the end of sanat does that.     Millies slightly makes his drawings more clearly spell things out than they really do.   There are about 30 of the 1203 found for every 1200, so that may have become a frozen date for a decade or so.

Same type, also one-sided, but dated 1023. Netscher & Van der Chijs have this type only with the date 1061.

There is not even a 1 in the date.   That is the L of Al-Sultan.

And maybe another unrecorded date; 1021. Or is it another 1023?

At least, this one has a 1 as first digit of the date.
