Hi,
Just purchased some scrap coins purchased from a metal detectorist and came up with a 1864 shilling with the die number 21, it also has a strange No 4 in the date, looks like a crack so possibly the die did not last too long so possibly reason for less mintage? Any help would be appreciated as this is my first post and still learning. .... The image is too large to include anyone know how to shrink it so i can put the pics on?..Thank you.

Welcome to World of Coins!

Die number 21 for 1864 Shilling is indeed not recorded so far on Tony Clayton's website: http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/dieno.html

(He's a member of WoC and he'll update his page if you inform him, with proper credit given 8))

For scanning and sizing issues, have a look at this board:

• Go here: http://www.coins-of-the-uk.co.uk/mail.html (specifically where it says "feel free to mail me" just above Links)
• Right click on the "mail me" hyperlink
• Select "copy mail address" (or similar wording - mine is in Swedish)
• Paste (ctrl-V) the address into the To field in your email program/webpage.
