While at my local market I had a bit of a hook through one of the large boxes of GB pennies/halfpennies etc & came across a Bronze 1882 'H' Heaton Mint Halfpenny tho its sadly been holed.

The is my 2nd Heaton Mint halfpenny, my 1st is 1881, not holed & in VF condition.

How scarce/rare is the 'H' coinage & is this example worth my holding onto??

Thanks! :)

If it were mine (I collect by type and mint), I would consider it a pleasant filler: it'd go into the collection, but not off my want list.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

The mintage was 4 480 000 so not uncommon.

I find the damage very unappealing so it wouldn't even make a filler for me unless it was free. :(

Prosit

My 1882 is so worn I can't tell if it has an H or not  ;)

I try to stay away from damaged coins so in this case I would use that one like I am using the one I have.
It fills a slot till I find a better one. These are not costly in a fair looking grade but very nice Pennies are costly
for most any date.
