New Delhi usually hosts one grand coin show every year. This is bit surprising, as there's a large collectors' community in and around Delhi and one would expect to have more shows. But no...

Mumbai perhaps hosts most coin shows every year. 4-5 big shows plus several small shows!

These shows stopped after the fiasco a couple of yers back when the police had to be called in to reign in the crowds who had started physical assault when the sellers refused to pay a few thousand rupees for crumpled 1 rupee notes......... (the result of some over zealous marketing on local FM radio and press by the organizers and the (stupid) media representatives. THe word let out was that the old 1 Rupee note could be sold fro thousands at the fair ......... and the illiterate peasantry, taking the information at face value, flocked to the fair in thousands with crumpled / torn / worn 1 Rupee notes, spending large amounts on transportation in the hope of making a fortune, only to be ticked off by the dealers / sellers .............

Best thing would be to drop a personal message to Mr. Patney. I haven't seen any updates regarding this exhibition recently.

Abhay, The exhibition is confirmed. However, it is a privately arranged affair of the Royal Numismatic Society and not the one organised by the Delhi coin society in the past. I understand that Mahesh Kalra is also organising an ONS-SA meet during the fair.
