Todywalla's will have auction# 108 on Friday (April 21, Part I) and Saturday (April 22, Part II).

You can see the digital catalogs on their Todywalla's website: http://www.todywallaauctions.com/Index.aspx

Besides Todywala, Bombay Auctions (Sanjay Gosalia) and Oswal Auctions (Girish Veera) also have their auctions scheduled at that time. I believe the auctions are all already online. There is also a 3 day workshop on Bhrami for beginners.

Mumbai mint will have its own stall at the fair like last time. Proof/UNC sets will be available for issue price. Not sure which sets will be available, shall update if I get more information.

India Post too will have their own stall.

Went to the show today. Spent about three hours and surprisingly, it was quite good this time! 8)

The stuff being offered as same as before, but I saw more variety this time, and pricing was also OK. Few dealers had foreign coins too, but all common. Picked up couple of nice error ₹10 coins (bimetallic) for a good price. Many dealers were having errors (Republic India), seems that these are now being made on order basis. :D Also picked up a FDC from India Post's counter issued on occasion of Sachin Tendulkar's 200th Test.

Mumbai Mint's counter saw a good business (it was the only stall which was accepting cards, rest all cash!). Saw lot of people buying sets from them, and the staff was very nice: Smiling, answering to all the questions neatly and what not. Quite unusual for government servants. ;)

NGC (US), PCGS (Europe), Steven Album (US) and one more foreign dealer (mostly fantasies) had their own stalls. NGC and PCGS did good business, I heard.

Overall, it was a good experience, expected it to be dull. Recommended if you are from Mumbai!

Thanks for the report, Bimat. Sorry there were no soul mates.

I learned that satisfaction does not depend on reality but on expectations. By expecting the show to be dull, you set yourself up for a positive experience. There's a lesson there, somewhere :)

Thanks bimat for the write up. It is good to see Mints make it a practise of participating in such exhibitions.
