Hello,
In spite of my researches I can't found any picture of the dokdo VS1985-1990 (KM-63) from Junagadah...
Maybe a member got a picture of that scarce coin ?

I am now working on the coinage of these four states and have started at the beginning. As usual KM has a huge shortfall on the information provided and there are no other authentic sources. The first coinage of Junagadh other than the the 'Hatkesh Shahi' Kori (one came up for sale in a recent Indian auction are the Diwan Shahi Koris, Dhinglas & Dokdas (I am sure the fractions will some time surface). Before that we have the 'Shri Ami' coinage of Amin Khan Ghori and the 'Shri Aa' Kori & Dokdas thought to have been issued under Aajoji.

I will come up with more in a few months time.

In the meanwhile, I was wondering about the possibility of an issue of VS 1985 / 1990 as mentioned in the KM. Minting rights of majority of states were withdrawn in the 1890's (AD) and the last issues of most states also ended in 1910's (AD). KM is known to report non-existent issues due to wrong reading of dates.

I hope by now you have been able to find a few dated (dual dated) dokdas of Junagadh. However, I post below a nice one which shows the VS date fairly bold. Could some one help read the the date 189_? IS it 1897? AH date is 125X.

Looking at the AH date,  the last digit must be another 5 due to the curved shape partly visible so AH1255 = 1839,  looks like the VS date ends in 7
I have one where the VS date is replaced with a sword.

frank, on zeno added: Bahadur Khan, AH1226-1256 / VS1868-1897 / 1811-1840AD with Nagari "gad"(represents Junagad) and Nagari "Ba"(the initial letters of the Babi family of ruling Nawabs) as usual.

I agree that the date could be AH 1255 / VS 1297. While my list of dates does not mention any Kori issued with this date combination, the Kori dated 1251 / 1891 & 1252 / 1892 are noted. After this date, I have not seen a single kori or 1/2 Kori dated in the next 8 to 10 years. The next Kori I have in my collection is 1263 which dates it to the reign of Hamid Khan.
