The design is so poor in my opinion.

The face value is fine in my opinion. Luxembourg has done something like that before (700 cent in 2010, for the 700th anniversary of the wedding of John and Elizabeth), and such collector coins are not actually means of payment anyway. Yes, the design is poor - "let's put the court of auditors logo on one side, and what else but the Grand Duke on the other side" ...  ::)

What I find really strange though is the "1917" on the reverse. Should be "1977" of course. Well, maybe they can fix that before minting the coins. Or maybe the coins will be issued that way, and become "rare error pieces". Or they decide to cancel the issue because of that mistake. One can only hope, hehe.

Is this issue confirmed? I do not see it listed in the numismatic catalog published by BCL (which can be seen here).

The odd denomination, plus the bimetallic composition makes it a 'must have' for me. ::)

I see the date as 1977-2017 only...Or am I missing something? The image posted by WBCN on its FB page indicates date as 1917, though.

Thats right! It was a mistake in the first design, the correct image is depicted here and the dates 1977-2017 will be struck on the coin.
