Yes there are quite a few well known collectors, some even public with exhibition of fancy numbers ... if memory serves me right there was this collector with 786 in Rs 500 denomination and he had close to 100 such notes ... there was a article in leading newspaper with photo of his collection ...

Hopefully the police/law enforcement will look the other way for such collectors and not harass them for quick bucks.

There are collectors who have hundreds of notes of these two denominations only...and that's their problem now!

Just overheard: Someone is going to challenge government's ordinance in court. It's not sustainable in the court, he says. Let's see if it happens.

By the way, according to the ordinance, you will be fined 5 times the value of old notes in possession (if more than 10), with a minimum fine of ₹10,000. No jail as reported earlier.

Some collectors have already written to the PMO. This time however, it's not an organized campaign as it was done last time. Just individual letters...
