It's an old story. Bad law, arrogant archeologists, failing police. For me, the most important point is that metal detectorists get mental health out of their hobby. These same men could be major trouble on the streets without their metal detector as an escape valve. The key is better laws, that give them an incentive to turn in their finds and lets them keep the rusted guns and other innocent and unimportant stuff. That would be a win for everybody...
