I read that this is supposed to represent the hand of Abbas ?
I have also seen that in the title of a coin for sale, without any explanation or reference and it's the 1st time I see that...
In addition, the design of the hand on this coin looks like a calligraphic arrangement of something like "al-jalal" (the Glory)  ? I am not sure ???
This is not seen on your coin so that on two of mine which show a "classical" design and may be it is just a coincidence ???

An interesting question ...
"All I know is that I know nothing" (Socrates)

Interesting it is for sure, here is another one from the same lot, this one is somewhat overstruck however

Vic, your coin with a 90° anticlockwise shows "Qandahar" (stylised...)
I'll post the coin of which I spoke soon.

The 'Qandahar' is from the overtype(?) which is Valentine 91, with a peacock left in the loop of Qandahar, see below.

I think there are traces of Qandahar on the reverse as well

Yes, I can see the similarity,  hard to find any of these without evidence of overstrikes

Lucky charm "Hand of 'Abbas" ( ibn Imam 'Ali) with Hussein, Hassan, Mhd, Allah on the fingers and in center : " 'Abbas ghazi 'alamdar "

I guess it's almost certain that it's the hand of Abbas represented on the coins as well
