Vidarbha, Copper Karshapana, 3.32g, Unpublished

Obv: Bold punch of a majestic maned lion to right and a peacock below, the Shaivite portrayal of Durga and Karttikeya in the forms of their vehicles.

Rev: Uniface

I've also attached separately the outline of the peacock.

Thank you Gautamji for your kind and encouraging words. Glad you liked it. I'm delighted with this new discovery as no one has ever come across this coin type.

The Lion looks so majestic, especially the mane, and the depiction of peacock is no less graceful. Pity the coin surface is a bit blackened and dark precluding the true hidden beauty underneath......but we can make out from the visible outline.

I join the praise words, great specimen ! This one has a really monumental look. Reminds me of ancient rock carvings. The somewhat uneven color just adds to the appeal. I also have never seen a similar one before.

You got it Anthony with the comment on the coin's resemblance to 'ancient rock carving' which is exactly what it looks like.

Plus a swastika above the lion's back. Very nice coins all!
