Indo Scythian, Azes II, Tetra Drachm
« on: October 06, 2016, 07:27:15 AM »
Hi,
Attaching a silver Tetradrachm Azes II.
obv. King mounted on a horse to right, holding a whip with Greek legend around,
rev. Pallas Athena standing right, holding a shield and long spear, right arm outstretched with monograms in the field.
25 mm, 9.52 gm.
A similar coin is shown here. However the monograms in front of the king and the Deity are different.
Thanks,
Saikat

Very nice and detailed specimen, congratulations with this one !
The object in front of the horse is a Kharosthi character "Sa".
