I'm surprised that the term Oriental is still used.  Here in the states if I used that term I would be hounded as politically incorrect.  Though that probably doesn't amount to much of an issue considering the present situation of our American politics ::)

Still I won't use it at all given my wife is Korean.

The Mandarin Oriental hotel chain is one of the very best in Asia. Oriental Trading Company, property of the US investment company Berkshire Hathaway, has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Internet Retailers. Amazing Oriental is the nicest Asian shopping chain of the Netherlands. Oriental Kitchen is a supermarket near me. It all shows how Asians, Europeans and Americans all use the word freely in a commercial context. With reason, since "of the East" has nothing demeaning to it. BTW, my wife is Chinese and we both adore Korean food.

That said, I have learned that the expression "politically correct" has a different, political, connotation in the US that cannot be compared to how it is used in Europe, where it just means "not giving offence in a way that could be perceived as somewhat exaggerated" (somewhat overdone, but within reason), rather than something like "to be avoided" (the evil political right).

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

It's amazing!!! After the war (WWII) America couldn't go continental (Europe) quick enough.  Now we've become too insulated.  Shame ???
