In 2017 it is 10 years since Slovenia introduced the euro. To commemorate this occasion, the Bank of Slovenia is going to issue a 2 euro commemorative coin. The coin has a mintage of 1 million pieces which includes 3,500 pieces in proof quality and 8,000 pieces in BU quality. On July 22, Slovenia has submitted the design to the Council of the European Union. The coin will be issued in the first quarter of 2017.

ECB boss Draghi in Slovenia for 10th euro anniversary

Ljubljana, 2 February - The central bank will host on Thursday a ceremony marking the 10th anniversary of the introduction of the euro, with President Borut Pahor and European Central Bank (ECB) president Mario Draghi addressing the event. A memorial coin will be issued on the occasion.
