Christmas Island - Series of 50 cents pieces
« on: May 22, 2016, 08:52:40 AM »
After the release of a 5 dollars fantasy piece in 2014, this year a series of 4 - 50 cents pieces has been issued for Christmas Island. The official currency of Christmas Island, which is a territory of Australia, is the Australian dollar.

I made a shrewd/wild guess that these are  issues from the Perth Mint.

Here is another awful issue from them.

Well, I think these fantasies were minted at another private mint. The quality of the Perth Mint coins is usually higher and Perth Mint uses their mintmark P on all of their coins. I agree with you that this is a very poor set.
