Beware: Forged George VI 1000 Rupee note on Ebay
« on: May 12, 2016, 05:52:38 AM »

Just saw this item on ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/311608485767

You can see that the note listed on ebay does not have any hole.
The same note was sold as a note with a big hole in another auction website. I am attaching the picture from the auction website and ebay with this thread for comparison

Buyers beware of this fraud. Name of ebay seller is Confucians and is from Hong Kong

I recently saw an article on a Hong Kong (or was it Singapore?) company that claimed it could repair damage to banknotes invisibly, take out fold and creases etc.

An unidentified coin is a piece of metal. An identified coin is a piece of history.

@figleaf This one seems to be more than removing the folds and creases. This one seems to have added extra material to cover the holes AND drawing/painting to sync with the surrounding artwork on the currency.  Amazing!!
