Can anyone explain the difference between Philippines 25 cents 1966 KM 89.1 and 89.2?

189.1 has eight smoke rings whilst 189.2 apparently has just six.
always willing to trade modern UK coins for modern coins from elsewhere....

Thanks andyg. Mine certainly doesn't have six rings, so it must be 189.1.

Hi,

7 or 8 smoke rings, sorry, but I've been away from the site a few days, but here is my old documentation.

Now I am confused. I count seven rings on both coins. At left, lines labelled 2 and 3 seem to go to the same ring. However, I see more space between rings and O in the legend at right than at left, so that may just be my eyesight.

Hi Peter,

I'll try to make a "blow-up", when I arrive in Normandy this afternoon.... Golf is calling!

Hi Peter,

the 19'th hole....

Here are the blow-ups and just to make it easier, I'll NOT tell you my counts beforehand! Not needed, I see :-\

Good enough, Ole. The lower one has 7 rings and the upper one a number of rings that's higher than 7, but how many there are is in the eye of the beholder. I find the space between rings and O an easier way to distinguish them: smoke and O clearly separated and smoke and O almost touch.
