Obama to sign Ayotte-backed bill to create pink coins

Thursday, April 21, 2016

A bill that U.S. Sen. Kelly Ayotte helped introduce to benefit breast cancer research is awaiting President Obama's signature.

The bill would create commemorative pink, silver and metal-alloy coins to benefit the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. They would become available for purchase in 2018, and would be minted the following year using the funding from coin orders.

The Senate has passed the bill introduced by the New Hampshire Republican and Democratic Senator Heidi Heitkamp of North Dakota. The House has passed the bill.

I demand a 14 cents coin in boogie pale yellow to commemorate the common cold (which usually takes 14 days), the proceeds of which will go to research on this disabling disease that 100% of the US population (and 102% of all US children in school!) have at least once a year. If there is any such research.
