A dealer is selling this 1RS. S. Bhoothalingam signed 1965 note bundle. He is saying that it is rare bundle with cutting mark without any pin and thread holes. He is asking 40k for this bundle. Is it worth buying.

The 1965 Bhootalingham is a common note and the bundle is easily available.
However all bundles would have the standard pin hole in it.

The fact that this one does not have pin holes can make it rare. It can also mean that these can be fakes. Do the due diligence before buying.

The lower picture shows that the surface texture of the paper is rather rough. My idea is that the currency paper should not have this much rough a texture. Perhaps @Dheer can comment.

Agreed. It does looks suspicious. Even the Lion on watermark is fishy, however to definitively conclude such type of fakes, holding the note physically is the best way to identify. It is similar to the known 1964 fake.

A word of caution, quite a few genuine seller have sold fakes without their knowledge. So unless you have dealt with the seller and know that he would repay you if found fake later, be cautious.

Forget this bundle. 1965 single note should not cost more than 130 rupees.  The bundle should cost maximum to 10000 to 12000
