Carlsberg rev. Spoof International Spoof  copper 26mm

See here for a little information on the company.

The only information Google can provide is that many of these have appeared on eBay in recent times.

I think the Theakston's tokens from some time ago (that are sometimes in a group of three of the same) are also all to do with a game called "spoof"....

Thanks Mr Paul Baker

Each player has a "pool" of three coins in one hand. Both hands are placed behind the player's back at which point coins can be transferred to the playing hand, which is then moved to the player's front. He alone knows how many coins he holds, be it 0, 1, 2, or 3. So, if four individuals are playing, the total number of coins held can be from 0-12. The first player, knowing only his own total, makes the opening call. Say for example that he holds 2 coins, then he knows that the total can be no more than 11. But that is assuming that the other 3 players are holding full hands. It's reasonable to assume that they're not so a call of 7 or 8 is likely. The second player now knows that the first player holds less than 3 as it is against the rules to make a call that you know to be impossible. Should player 2 be holding for example 0 coins then he knows that the total will be 8 or less. If player 1 has called 8, player 2 is likely to call 6 or 7. Thus the game is played out until all four players have called and then all hands are opened. If someone has called correctly he is the winner, if not then play again.
The bravest call of all is Spoof, which means that the total is zero.

Thank you, indeed that is entirely new to me.

:(

So this Carlsberg coin could be a British issue?

I have see the Theakston tokens advertised for sale on eBay where, from memory, they often come in sets of three complete with instructions.

From Wikipedia - ...At the end of the tour, visitors are given tokens that can be exchanged for drinks at the bar of the Black Bull in Paradise, named after the original pub (Black Bull) and the location of the new brewery (Paradise Fields)....
