Exciting find, or just another fake?

This is interesting. A guy sent me pictures of his 1924 20 Wen. It looks fine, until you compare it to a known genuine specimen. Is it real? These are not valuable coins. The real one (from Ira and Larry Goldberg) sold for $42 USD. Thanks for any help. -- Paul R

I'm no expert but I'd say immediately fake: the 'Manchu' at top is just meaningless squiggles.

I am another non-expert in Chinese coins, but I agree fully. The "suspicious" coin is without any doubt a fake.

dots instead of stars. the letters are also not so sharp.
