Meeting Oriental Numismatic Society, 17 October 2015

Dear Friends,
The annual meeting of the Oriental Numismatic Society in the Netherlands, will be held on Saturday 17 October 2015 at the premises of the Leiden University, Cleverdingaplaats 1 at Leiden. Members of continental Europe are separately informed with the latest Journal #224.
For all others and for those who didn’t receive the program of the meeting, it can be found at the ONS-website http://orientalnumismaticsociety.org/regions/europe_section
Some of the topics of the meeting will be on the Coinage of the kingdom of Commagene by Rudy Dillen and Arab-Byzantine coinage by Frank Hendriks.
Dr. Wybrand op den Velde will give a presentation of the book ‘Cast Korean Coins and Charms’ which he as co-author with David Hartill, has published recently. A few copies may be available from the co-author on the spot.
There will still be room for additional short papers, questions, news items, etc. Members are invited to come forward with it. A provisional paper on an Indian subject is kept on hand.


Traditionally, at the end of the meeting a small auction of Oriental coins and related books will be held. The proceeds of this auction is a welcome addition to the ONS-funds. For the auction list see: Auction list 17 October 2015
